Researchers tackling complex data challenges have a new opportunity to showcase their work and secure funding through the annual #ResearchForChange Grant.
This year, the initiative takes the form of a Poster Award, seeking projects that pushed the boundaries of standard workflows.
Under the theme “Fuzzy Data, Smart Approaches,” the award highlights researchers who successfully navigated difficult datasets or unexpected analytical hurdles using MAXQDA software.
The organizers are looking for creative solutions to methodological obstacles, regardless of the academic discipline involved.
Funding and benefits
Winners of the competition will receive a comprehensive support package designed to advance their research career [3].
This includes a one-time $500 cash scholarship and a free one-year license for MAXQDA Analytics Pro, complete with AI Assist Premium.
Beyond financial support, successful applicants gain access to exclusive professional development resources.
The prize includes enrollment in specialized self-paced courses and the chance to feature their research in a global online exhibition and the MAXDAYS conference this September.
Application requirements and eligibility
The call is open to anyone conducting qualitative or mixed methods research, including students, faculty, and professional researchers.
Teams are also encouraged to apply, though they must decide how to distribute the single prize package among their members.
To apply, candidates must submit a professional resume and a poster proposal of no more than 1.5 page.
This proposal should detail the project’s methodology and provide a specific account of how MAXQDA was utilized to solve research challenges.
While the research can be conducted in any language, all application materials must be submitted in English.
Applicants should be prepared to present their final posters digitally in a landscape 16:9 format if they progress to the second round.
Deadline
Interested researchers must act quickly, as the submission window is strictly limited.
Applications are being accepted from May 5 until the final deadline on June 7, 2026, through the official MAXQDA online portal.
