Visa is inviting visionary African fintech startups to join the sixth cohort of its prestigious Accelerator Program.
This initiative aims to provide innovators with the tools and expertise needed to scale their ideas and impact across the continent.
The program targets startups reimagining how money moves, focusing on critical themes such as embedded finance, payment infrastructure, and empowering small businesses.
Participants will engage in an intensive three-month hybrid journey designed to refine their business models and technology.
Funding and benefits
Selected startups gain access to a wealth of resources, including 1:1 mentorship from industry veterans and specialized training on Visa’s developer portal.
The program also offers product perks and vendor discounts valued at over $200,000.
Financial support is a key pillar, as startups successfully completing the program could be considered for investment by either Visa or Plug and Play.
It is expected that up to 50% of the cohort could receive such funding, while all participants will pitch to global venture capitalists during an in-person Demo Day.
Participation in the program activities is entirely free of charge, and Visa provides accommodation for one founder to attend the concluding Demo Day.
This support ensures that high-potential founders can focus on scaling their solutions without the burden of entry fees.
Application requirements and eligibility
The program is specifically designed for startups ranging from Seed to Series A stages.
Applicants must have at least a minimum viable product (MVP) that has been market-tested and is already gaining traction.
While the program is conducted in English, it is open to startups already operating in Africa or those with a clear commitment to expanding into African markets.
Applicants must be prepared to commit to the three-month schedule and cannot be enrolled in any other accelerator program during their participation.
Deadline
Interested fintech innovators are encouraged to apply now through the official portal to be considered for the upcoming Cohort 6.
