Applications are now open for the Wema Bank Bankers-In-Training Programme for Nigerian graduates, which provides participants with comprehensive exposure to various aspects of the banking and financial services industry.

This intensive programme provides structured training, hands-on experience, and career development opportunities in retail, commercial and corporate banking. The training will be held in Lagos (with possible deployment to other locations).

During the training, participants will:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new customers and grow the bank’s portfolio.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with clients to drive deposits, loans, and other financial products.
  • Conduct market research to identify sales opportunities and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Cross-sell the bank’s products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance client retention and satisfaction.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for the training must:

  • Possess a minimum of a Second Class Upper in any discipline from an accredited university
  • Have a minimum of 5 credits (including Mathematics and English) in WAEC, NECO, or its equivalent
  • not be older than 26 years at the time of application
  • Have completed NYSC with a valid discharge certificate
  • Demonstrate strong interest in sales, customer service, and financial solutions
  • Be passionate about sales, marketing, and relationship management in the banking sector.
