Weave a Real Peace (WARP) has officially opened its 2026 Artisan Support Grants application cycle, inviting textile makers from around the world to seek financial assistance.

This initiative is dedicated to fostering a connected textile community by providing small grants that prioritize the preservation of cultural heritage and economic independence.

Since the program’s inception in 2020, it has distributed approximately $20,000 annually to support traditional crafters.

As of 2025, the organization has successfully awarded more than 80 grants to artisans spanning over 30 countries.

Funding and benefits

Selected applicants are eligible for grants ranging from $500 to $1,000, which are intended to lay the groundwork for long-term business success.

These funds offer a vital boost to local economies by supporting projects that have historically empowered marginalized groups, including refugee women and multi-family workshops.

The funding is versatile, covering the costs of raw materials such as fiber, yarn, and dye supplies, as well as essential equipment like looms and sewing machines.

Additionally, grants can be utilized for professional development through technical training and marketing resources, such as brochures or website support.

Application requirements and eligibility

The program is open to individual textile artisans, cooperatives, and small businesses from any country.

To qualify, products must be fiber-based, handmade, and strictly not mass-produced.

WARP specifically excludes startup expenses for new businesses, requiring that an enterprise already be in operation.

Preference is given to applications that demonstrate a commitment to environmentally sustainable practices, benefit a broad community, and help keep indigenous artistic traditions alive.

Deadline

The application window for the 2026 cycle is currently active, with forms available in both English and Spanish.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the criteria carefully to ensure their projects align with WARP’s mission of collective prosperity.

The final deadline for all submissions is May 20, 2026. Interested artisans can access the application through the WARP website to join the growing global network of grant recipients.
