Photoworks has officially launched its international open call for the 2026 Photography+ Emerging Talent Issue.
This initiative seeks to highlight the next generation of visual storytellers by featuring their work in the organization’s specialized online magazine.
The selected artists will join a platform that explores the intersection of photography and everyday life through themed essays and folios.
As a registered charity and part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio, Photoworks continues its long-standing mission to support lens-based arts.
Funding and benefits
Ten winners will be selected to have their work showcased in the upcoming issue of Photography+.
Additionally, these awardees will see their projects presented during an evening projection at the Kranj Foto Fest.
Individual prizes include a one-year Photoworks membership and professional mentoring from the organization’s curatorial team for one standout artist.
Partner organization Spectrum Photographic will also provide a £200 printing voucher and an Instagram takeover for a selected participant.
Application requirements and eligibility
The opportunity is open to BA and MA graduates, as well as image-based artists within the first five years of their professional practice or graduation.
This international call is free to enter, ensuring accessibility for artists worldwide.
Applicants must submit their entries through the Picter platform, providing up to 15 images from a single recent body of work.
Submissions must also be accompanied by a project statement not exceeding 200 words.
The final selection will be made by a high-profile jury, including Emma Bowkett of the Financial Times and Photoworks Director Louise Fedotov-Clements.
They are joined by industry experts Fernanda Prado Verčič, Maryam Wahid, and Amin Yousefi.
Deadline
Prospective applicants have until June 15, 2026, at 11:59 pm to complete their digital submissions.
Artists are reminded that only one project per person will be accepted for consideration.
