iF Design has officially opened registration for the iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE 2026, inviting entries for projects that aim to solve pressing societal challenges.
The initiative supports those working toward the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This prize is specifically aimed at established social projects that demonstrate a meaningful connection to design principles.
By highlighting these initiatives, iF Design seeks to foster a global network of experts dedicated to positive social outcomes.
Funding and benefits
Winners of the prize will receive a share of a EUR 100,000 prize pool, which is donated annually by iF Design to support the world’s best social projects.
Alongside the funding, projects selected by the jury are awarded an individual winner certificate.
Selected projects also benefit from significant international exposure through publication on the iF Design website.
This platform introduces the projects to a global community of designers, the media, and the general public.
Application requirements and eligibility
Applying for the prize is free of charge, though candidates are limited to submitting the same project a maximum of two times.
Interested parties should note that the prize is intended for established projects, as student concepts are not accepted.
To qualify, a project must align with one or more of the 15 specified UN Sustainable Development Goals, ranging from poverty reduction to climate action.
Submissions are evaluated on five updated criteria, including problem-solving impact and moral-ethical standards.
Evaluators also look for high design relevance, such as the use of design thinking in the project’s creation or the enablement of creativity.
The jury process includes individual reviews by independent, rotating experts and a joint session to determine the finalists.
Deadline
The deadline for the first round of registration is 20 May 2026 at 23:59 CET. Upon registration, applicants will receive a unique Entry ID to track their submission throughout the process.
