British Council seeks partners to power student innovation in Africa

The British Council is inviting dynamic organisations to become Innovation Ecosystem Partners for its Innovation for African Universities (IAU) programme. This initiative aims to find expert partners to help shape the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators across the continent. Selected partners will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a new enterprise challenge for university students.

Who can apply?

Eligible organisations must:

  • Be based in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, or the United Kingdom.
  • Have proven experience in designing and delivering enterprise challenges, innovation programmes, or business support initiatives for young people.
  • Possess strong networks and experience working with universities and innovation ecosystems.

Application requirements

Interested organisations must submit a comprehensive proposal via the British Council’s online application portal. Proposals should highlight:

  • Relevant experience and track record.
  • Organisational capacity.
  • A creative and practical approach to designing and delivering the enterprise challenge.

Key dates

Application deadline: 31 October 2025.

Results announced: 15 November 2025.

Contract signing: 30 November 2025

Grant payments: November 2025–June 2026.
