The Western Union Foundation, in partnership with the Watson Institute, has opened applications for the 2025 Western Union Global Fellowship Program. The fully funded fellowship is designed to support and empower individuals from refugee, displaced, or highly marginalised communities across the globe.

About the Fellowship

This year-long program provides selected fellows with access to world-class training, mentorship, and a global network of changemakers. It is tailored to individuals who are leading or building impactful initiatives in their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be from, or working with, marginalised, refugee, or displaced communities

  • Be actively leading a nonprofit or for-profit venture with a viable business model and active customer base

  • Be located in or creating impact in one of the following countries:
    Costa Rica, Argentina, Lithuania, the Philippines, the United States, Brazil, Uganda, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, India, Bangladesh, Mexico, Germany, Colombia, Japan, or Pakistan

  • Applications can be completed online in approximately 30 minutes

  • Priority deadline: July 1, 2025 (early consideration)

  • Rolling admissions continue until all fellowship spots are filled
