The first BRICS STI Framework Programme Innovation Call for 2025 has been announced to support collaborative projects in science, technology and innovation (STI).
The initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation among Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa by funding joint research in areas such as advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, and sustainable energy.
Funding model
Funding is coordinated, with each country’s national funding agency covering its own participants in line with its rules. Proposals should focus on joint research and development that leads to innovative products, services or processes.
Who can apply?

Projects must include participants from at least three different BRICS countries.

Partnerships should involve both industry and academia.
How to apply?
Applicants must submit funding applications to their respective national funding bodies and also file a joint application form with the BRICS STI Framework Programme Secretariat via the online system by November 5, 2025. The process follows a two-stage submission model to ensure smooth multinational collaboration.
