The International News Media Association (INMA) is officially hunting for the next generation of industry leaders to join its prestigious “30 Under 30” class.

Through its Young Professionals Initiative, the organization aims to identify 30 rising stars who are currently reshaping the digital landscape and rejuvenating workplace cultures.

This global search focuses on young professionals who bring fresh perspectives to Millennial and Generation Z audiences.

By highlighting early career achievements, INMA seeks to find individuals who can help reimagine news brands in an increasingly complex and competitive digital environment.

Funding and benefits

While the program highlights career potential, the primary reward is the international recognition of being named one of 30 outstanding achievers in the global news industry.

Winners gain visibility across various functions, including advertising, audience, business intelligence, and leadership.

Notably, participation in this professional recognition program is accessible to all qualified candidates regardless of their budget.

There is no application fee required to enter, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent diverse talent from being considered for the honors.

Application requirements and eligibility

To qualify, applicants must be currently employed by a news media company and be under the age of 30 as of June 19, 2026.

The selection committee is looking for big-picture thinkers who have already demonstrated significant expertise and tangible accomplishments in their early careers.

Candidates should also possess essential soft skills, including an entrepreneurial spirit and a hunger for knowledge.

Five winners will be chosen from each of INMA’s six global communities: advertising, data, management, editorial/newsroom, product, and reader revenue.

INMA is committed to building a class that reflects the diverse markets news media serves worldwide, including representation across race, creed, color, and gender.

Applications are evaluated on merit by members of the Young Professionals Initiative Committee and the wider INMA community.

Deadline

The clock is ticking for those ready to make their mark, as the final deadline to submit applications or nominate a colleague is Friday, June 19, 2026.

Interested professionals can complete the submission process through the official online application form.
