F5 has officially announced the launch of its 2026 STEM & AI Education Grants, a strategic initiative designed to empower nonprofit organizations and future changemakers.
This year’s program marks a significant evolution, placing a heavy emphasis on artificial intelligence as a mandatory tool for driving social and economic innovation.
The 2026 cycle shifts its geographical focus toward regions with the most pressing needs, specifically targeting organizations operating in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
By concentrating resources in these areas, the initiative aims to bridge the digital divide for those often left behind by rapid technological shifts.
A key pillar of this year’s call is the prioritization of individuals living in extreme poverty, defined by the United Nations as those living on less than $2 USD per day.
F5 seeks to break down systemic barriers by supporting programs that provide equitable access to high-tech literacy and career development.
Funding and benefits
Ten selected grant partners will each receive a $50,000 USD one-time award to support their mission.
These grants are unrestricted, providing nonprofits the financial flexibility to innovate and scale their existing STEM and AI initiatives.
In addition to the funding, international grant recipients will receive specialized support through an Enhanced Expenditure Responsibility (EER) process.
This process, facilitated by F5’s partner CAF America, ensures that organizations outside the United States can meet global grantmaking standards at no additional cost to the nonprofit.
Application requirements and eligibility
To qualify, organizations must be legally registered nonprofits with at least three years of operational experience and a functional website.
Applicants must demonstrate that their primary mission is to enhance STEM and AI inclusion, specifically benefiting communities where at least 50% of the population served lives in poverty.
Prospective partners must also provide rigorous quantitative data to prove their effectiveness, such as metrics on college placement, graduation rates, or employment in STEM sectors.
Furthermore, F5 requires all applicants to maintain written non-discrimination policies to ensure an inclusive environment for all participants.
Deadline
The application window is brief, opening on June 1, 2026, and closing strictly at 11:45 PM PST on June 14, 2026.
All submissions must be completed electronically in English, and successful applicants will be notified of their status by July 2026.
