The Policy Challenge is receiving submissions for bold ideas capable of fostering national unity and strengthening social cohesion in Nigeria.

If you have such an idea as a young Nigerian, then you can propose an innovative, practical policy reform that can help bridge divides and build a stronger, more united Nigeria.

Areas of focus

The challenges seeking entries for three core areas:

–    Governance reforms: The aim here is ideas that strengthen institutions and agencies to promote national unity.

–   Political representation: This is a fit if your idea is about fostering fair and inclusive decision-making structures.

–   Public sector transformation: This focus area focuses on  enhancing trust in government services.

Funding and benefits

The first-place winner gets ₦1 million and a 3-month paid internship, while the second and third winners get ₦1,000,000 and ₦750,000, respectively.

Besides funding, other benefits include exclusive mentorship from policy experts, national recognition and publication, the opportunity to present at the Abuja Policy Conference, and the chance to earn Nigeria’s Policy Youth Ambassador title.

Who can apply?

If you are an undergraduate student in any of Nigeria’s tertiary schools, you qualify to apply. But you must be at least 18 years old by August 2025.

If you are applying as a team, a minimum of 2 members is required, and the maximum is four.

But whether you are applying as an individual or as a team, you must be available to attend the Policy Conference in Abuja on August 12, 2025 .

The Policy Challenge invites young Nigerians to propose innovative and practical policy reforms that can foster national unity and strengthen social cohesion.

Eligible applicants must be undergraduate students from Nigerian tertiary institutions, aged at least 18 years by August 2025.

Applications can be submitted individually or in teams of 2 to 4 members. Applicants must be available to attend the Policy Conference in Abuja on August 12, 2025.

The application deadline is May 19, and submissions can be made through the specified online portal.
