Nigerian government opens application for Creative Economy Development Fund

The Nigerian Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy (FMACTCE) has opened the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF).

This initiative aims to foster growth, innovation, and sustainable financing for Nigeria’s creative and cultural industries. It is part of efforts to create jobs, diversify the economy, and boost the country’s global cultural image.

In phase 1, businesses and projects requiring over $100,000 and with the necessary documentation in place will be prioritised

To qualify, applicants must be individual creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses operating in Nigeria’s creative and cultural industries.

Businesses operating within the tourism industry that are linked to the cultural and creative aspects of the value chain, including infrastructure, are qualified to apply.

Applicants must provide proof of viable project plans, legal rights to use any relevant intellectual property, and alignment with the fund’s mission to strengthen the creative sector.
