ShinHan Art Materials Inc. has officially launched its annual Postcard Art Contest, inviting young creators from across the globe to participate in a unique creative challenge.
This year’s theme, “A Postcard to Myself: 30 Years from Now,” encourages participants to visualize their future lives and the world of tomorrow through the lens of “Drawing Tomorrow”.
The competition serves as a global platform for aspiring artists to showcase their talent while reflecting on their personal growth and aspirations.
By utilizing traditional fine art media, students are tasked with condensing their grand visions of the future into the small, intimate format of a physical postcard.
Funding and benefits
The contest offers a robust prize structure, led by a Grand Prize that includes a trophy, a certificate, and a cash award of USD 2,000.
Four First Place winners will also receive cash prizes ranging from USD 200 to USD 600, with specific amounts tailored to their respective age categories.
Beyond the top honors, the competition recognizes hundreds of participants with various awards intended to support their artistic journey.
Second and third-place winners receive ShinHan art materials and cash or certificates, while fourth-place and honorable mention recipients are celebrated with certificates to bolster their creative portfolios.
Application requirements and eligibility
Participation is open to art lovers worldwide between the ages of 4 and 18.
To ensure a fair competition, organizers require that each participant submit only one original, two-dimensional artwork that interprets the official theme freely in their own style.
Technical specifications state that the artwork must be within 14.7 cm × 10 cm and primarily use fine art paints such as oils, acrylics, watercolors, or gouache.
Entries must be submitted digitally via the official website by uploading a high-resolution scan or clear photograph of the physical piece.
Deadline
The application window is strictly limited to the month of May, with all entries due by May 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM KST.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to complete the multi-step online submission process, including the “Terms and Conditions” agreement, well before the final cutoff.
Following the deadline, a panel of experts will conduct judging throughout the month of June.
Final winners are scheduled to be announced on the ShinHan Art website on July 10, 2026, at 6 PM KST, marking the conclusion of this global search for the next generation of visionaries.
