Non-governmental organizations often face the challenge of fragmented narratives that dilute their impact over time.
To address this, the Communication Foundation (CF) has announced a new round of Storytelling Review grants designed to help organizations realign their mission with a clear, powerful narrative.
The program offers a structured assessment of how an organization communicates its story across different channels.
By analyzing narrative structure, tone of voice, and audience focus, CF aims to help NGOs transition from dry “organisational talk” to “human” stories that inspire stakeholder action.
Funding and benefits
While this grant does not provide direct cash funding, successful applicants receive a strategic communication review valued at €2,500.
The benefit package includes an audit of existing storytelling materials and two to three digital creative sessions where experts provide actionable recommendations to strengthen the organization’s narrative framework.
Grantees will also receive guidance on ethical storytelling, ensuring that communications empower beneficiaries rather than simply portraying need.
These sessions are designed to build trust and strengthen recognition across various platforms, from social media to annual reports.
Application requirements and eligibility
The application process is specifically designed to be “short and to-the-point” to respect the time of busy non-profit professionals.
Organizations of all sizes are eligible, and the form requires basic details including the organization’s country, website, and annual turnover.
Applicants must also provide a brief statement of no more than 100 words explaining why they are applying for the review.
CF will select grantees based on these submissions, focusing on those who seek to find the “heart” of their work and communicate it more effectively.
Deadline
Interested organizations must submit their applications through the official online form between May 25 and June 15, 2026.
Once the window closes, CF will notify successful grantees to schedule an introductory call and begin the auditing process.
In an increasingly competitive environment, the Communication Foundation emphasizes that clear and credible storytelling is essential for building long-term trust.
This grant opportunity offers a pathway for NGOs to master their story and ensure their message consistently reflects why their work matters.
