High school students around the world now have a chance to lead the charge in sustainable development through the Eco Ambassadors Solutions Lab (EASL).

This innovative eight-week program, organized by SDGs Today and Columbia University, invites young visionaries to tackle real-world problems using cutting-edge geospatial technologies and digital storytelling.

The 2026 session, titled “Factivism & Connectivity in the Age of AI,” focuses on the intersection of digital literacy and ethical technology.

Participants will learn to navigate fact-based narratives and analyze data to develop evidence-based solutions for global sustainability challenges while exploring how AI is changing our connectivity.

Funding and benefits

Participation in this prestigious lab is offered entirely free of charge, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent talented students from diverse backgrounds from joining.

The program provides unique access to technical training in practical tools like Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to equip students for real-world problem-solving.

Beyond technical skills, students gain access to a global network of changemakers, professional mentorship, and expert-led sessions.

Successful graduates will receive a certificate of completion, recognizing their agency in climate action and their development of future-ready skills.

Application requirements and eligibility

EASL is open to high school students worldwide who are passionate about becoming ambassadors for data-driven, sustainable solutions.

The program is conducted virtually via Google Classroom, featuring two weekly live sessions designed to foster global collaboration and cross-cultural exchange.

To participate, students must have reliable access to a computer and the internet.

The curriculum embraces a bottom-up learning approach, empowering students to guide discussions and prioritize the sustainability themes that matter most to their local communities.

A key requirement for earning the certificate is the submission of a final project in StoryMap format.

This project allows students to demonstrate their technical proficiency by applying critical thinking and data analysis to a specific environmental or social justice issue.

Deadline

Aspiring ambassadors must act quickly, as applications close on May 15.

This program represents a unique opportunity for youth to engage in high-level research and policy advocacy, preparing them for purposeful careers in sustainability and science.
