The InteRussia team has officially opened applications for a medical fellowship program designed for foreign doctors to be hosted at Moscow’s Sechenov University.
This initiative, supported by the Gorchakov Fund and other partners, aims to bridge international medical expertise with high-tech Russian healthcare.
Selected participants will gain rare access to diagnostic and treatment processes at premier Russian clinics, focusing on innovative high-tech methods.
The program also offers opportunities for non-Russian doctors to gain practical experience in their specific areas of specialization and engage in research activities.
The fellowship features five specialized tracks: Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Integrative and Complementary Medicine, and Oral Cancer Screening and Diagnosis.
This diverse range of fields ensures that specialists from various backgrounds can find a relevant focus for their training.
Funding and benefits
To support the participants, the organizers will cover the costs of round-trip travel from the participant’s residence to Moscow and provide comprehensive medical insurance.
Additionally, each fellow will receive a scholarship of 15,000 rubles to assist with expenses during the program’s duration .
Accommodation is provided in double hotel rooms throughout the fellowship period, which is scheduled to run from October 12 to October 24, 2026.
However, participants are expected to cover their own visa application fees and meal costs while in Moscow.
Application requirements and eligibility
The program is open to non-Russian citizens aged 21 to 40 who are currently practicing as doctors, residents, or pharmacists at medical organizations outside of Russia.
Candidates must have a formal education in medicine and reside outside the Russian Federation.
To maintain the program’s international focus, applicants must not have any current academic or employment ties to Russian institutions at the time of their application.
Furthermore, as the fellowship is conducted entirely in English, a minimum proficiency level of B2 is required.
Deadline
Prospective fellows must submit their applications, including an academic portfolio with links to research projects, through the Gorchakov Fund website.
The final deadline for submissions is August 24, 2026, at 23:59 Moscow time, and all applicants will be notified of their results via email.
