The GIZ-MOVE initiative, in collaboration with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, is inviting Agri-SMEs and food processors to apply for its New Product Development Program in Nigeria.
The program targets processors experienced in rice and cashew value chains, including those in gastronomy, rice and cashew pastry, cosmetics, and health products.
Selected applicants will receive support to develop innovative products using rice, cashew, and their by-products, which will be showcased at an exhibition organised by the initiative.

Eligibility Criteria
Ideal applicants must:

Be Agri-SMEs or processors within the rice and cashew value chains

Be interested in expanding market demand, satisfying consumer needs, and increasing business profitability

Be ready to develop and launch at least one new product, share its recipe, and participate in future monitoring and evaluation

Operate legally within Nigeria (with valid business registration and permits)

Have at least three years of relevant experience in agri-food, gastronomy, pastry, cosmetics, or health sectors

Have a clear plan for developing a new product using rice/cashew and/or their by-products
-
Be introducing a new product to their business
-
Present a realistic and reasonable budget for the product development

Have existing marketing channels (e.g., social media, direct orders, supermarkets, or food joints)
Program Support
Selected businesses will receive funding to cover costs related to product development and launch, culminating in a market exhibition facilitated by the MOVE project and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment. Preference will be given to applicants with well-structured, cost-effective proposals.

Successful candidates will be funded to cover various product development and launch costs, concluding with a market exhibition organized by MOVE and the Federal Ministry. Preference is given to those with structured, cost-efficient proposals. Interested parties can submit applications online by July 21, 2025.
