The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) invites applications for its Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP)–a six-month, fully funded internship scheduled to run from July to December 2025 in Accra, Ghana.
This internship program caters to early-career professionals and fresh graduates with 0–3 years of experience who are keen to contribute to and learn from WACSI’s work in capacity development, policy influencing and advocacy, and knowledge management.
Interns will receive practical training, mentorship, and exposure to core organisational functions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement institutional assessment tools, training, and technical support.
- Participate in unit and cross-unit programme/project planning and proposal development.
- Provide general administrative support for programmes, budget monitoring, tracking, and maintaining a calendar of activities.
- Assist with arrangements and organisation of the various pieces of training and technical support planned under the unit.
- Serve as a liaison between WACSI and resource persons, associates, partners, and beneficiaries.

The successful intern will spend a substantial part of the internship working at the WACSI office in Accra, Ghana.
Note: Interns who are unable to complete the six-month internship will refund the total cost of the internship package to WACSI.
Eligibility Criteria
- Substantial research and communication skills
- A background in international affairs, development studies, political science, public policy, law, or related fields.
- An interest in civil society and non-profit organisation management or in a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong internet research skills
- Preference will be given to applicants with high proficiency in English, French or Portuguese.
