The University of Glasgow, one of Britain’s prestigious institutions, is offering exciting opportunities to African nationals interested in pursuing a master’s degree in disciplines related to their areas of interest.
Located in Scotland, the University of Glasgow is a world-class institution with numerous top rankings in research, sustainability, and a student-friendly environment.
Earlier this year, the institution launched the University of Glasgow African Excellence Award to support high-achieving students from across Africa in becoming Future World Changers. The university is looking for students who wish to undertake master’s level study to further develop their knowledge and skills, enabling them to contribute positively to their communities in the future.
The university is offering up to 15 scholarships for international students from Africa, starting a one-year postgraduate taught master’s programme in any discipline for the 2025/26 academic session. The scholarship covers full tuition fees.
To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to a UK First-Class Honours degree. They must also hold an offer of a place for a postgraduate taught one-year master’s programme for the September 2025 intake.
An offer is not required to apply, but applicants must secure one to be considered for an interview. It is important to take programme application timelines into account as detailed on programme webpages.
Applicants must have international fee status, be domiciled in Africa, and hold a passport from one of the eligible countries. They must also demonstrate a clear career or development plan that will be supported by master’s level study through the application form.
Additionally, those offered the scholarship following a successful interview must provide evidence of meeting the UKVI maintenance and living costs by June 30, 2025.
The deadline for the application is 31st March 2025.
To apply for this scholarship, applicants should review their chosen programmes, read the eligibility requirements and deadlines, and register on the university’s application portal through this link.
