In a groundbreaking initiative poised to redefine the nation’s trajectory, FIST Africa and the Madiba Foundation for Good Governance, with generous support from the MacArthur Foundation, are gearing up to launch the highly anticipated New Nigeria Campaign. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, in the capital city of Abuja.

Mr. Olumide Frederick Adetiba, the Executive Director of the Madiba Foundation for Good Governance, revealed the distinguished lineup for the event in a recent statement. Among the luminaries slated grace the event are renowned figures such as Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the esteemed National Security Adviser; Dapo Olorunyomi, the influential Publisher of Premium Times and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID); and Her Royal Highness, Olori Atuwase III, the esteemed Queen of the Warri Kingdom, alongside other notable personalities.

Also confirmed to attend are prominent government officials, including the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo (SAN); Hon. Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth for State; Rinsola Abiola, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership; and Hamza Lawal, the Executive Director of Connected Development, among other distinguished civil society actors.

The New Nigeria Campaign is poised to catalyze a profound shift in societal values and behaviors, with a keen focus on nurturing patriotism and national pride, particularly among the youth. It aims to instill a sense of collective ownership and responsibility for the ambitious New Nigeria project.

The unveiling ceremony promises to be a dynamic and inspiring affair, featuring thought-provoking speeches, insightful panel discussions, captivating musical performances, and more. Furthermore, students from select secondary and tertiary institutions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be in attendance, ensuring intergenerational dialogue and engagement.

To ensure widespread participation, the event will be live-streamed online, offering an inclusive platform for engagement and involvement beyond the geographical confines of Abuja.
