The International Indigenous Women’s Forum (FIMI) is officially launching the Ayni Call for Proposals 2026, seeking to empower organizations led by Indigenous Women.

This initiative aims to support projects that transform realities and promote the full exercise of both individual and collective rights within Indigenous communities.

Funding and benefits

The Ayni Fund serves as more than just a financial resource, providing direct grants to assist in the practical implementation of chosen initiatives.

These financial resources are designed to strengthen the organizational fabric of communities through grassroots or regional action.

In addition to funding, organizations will receive technical accompaniment, which includes expert advice and tools to guide the development of their projects.

This comprehensive support ensures that groups have ongoing guidance throughout every stage of their initiative’s progress.

Application requirements and eligibility

This specific invitation is open only to Indigenous Women’s groups and organizations that have not previously received support from this fund.

The call values a wide range of impact, accepting applications for local grassroots initiatives as well as projects with a national or regional scope.

Successful proposals must address one of seven priority thematic areas, such as economic empowerment, land rights, or climate change resilience.

Other vital areas of focus include political participation, holistic health, Indigenous wisdom, and the prevention of violence against women and girls.

Deadline

Interested organizations are encouraged to review the program’s Implementation Guide to ensure they meet all specific eligibility requirements and formatting standards.

This guide contains the essential tools needed for a successful application process.

The application window is strictly set from June 1 to June 30, 2026, and all proposals must be submitted within this timeframe.

Organizations are encouraged to stay tuned to FIMI updates for further information regarding the defense of their rights and upcoming collaborative initiatives.
