The Dawn Project has officially opened submissions for its 2026 Climate & Health Challenge, inviting creative minds to explore the critical intersection of environmental change and human wellbeing.
Under the theme “Our Climate, Our Health, Our Responsibility: Every Action Matters,” the competition seeks to turn urgent public health challenges into artistic inspiration and global action.
Participants are encouraged to use their talents in writing, creative design, and music to promote planetary protection and personal responsibility.
By highlighting issues like rising temperatures and ecosystem disruption, the initiative aims to empower individuals, especially the youth, to become active voices for a healthier future.
Funding and benefits
The competition offers millions in cash prizes, including top rewards of ₦300,000 for first-place winners in the adult writing, music, and creative design categories.
Consolation prizes will also be distributed to reward outstanding efforts across all age groups and artistic disciplines.
Beyond financial rewards, winning entries may be featured in major media platforms, providing a massive audience for the creators’ messages.
Exceptional participants also gain the prestigious opportunity to be recognized as Climate Change Ambassadors, leading the charge for environmental awareness in their communities.
Application requirements and eligibility
This challenge is open to everyone, regardless of background, location, or skill level.
While creative design and music categories are open to all ages, the writing category is specifically structured into three brackets: ages 7–13, 14–17, and 18 and above.
Submissions must be original, unpublished works created by the contestant that align strictly with the official theme.
Written entries, such as essays or poetry, are limited to a maximum of 200 words, while music entries must focus on delivering a strong message about protecting both the planet and human health.
Technical requirements specify that written and design works be uploaded in JPEG or PDF format, while songs must be submitted in MP3 format.
Applicants must register via the official website, follow the project on social media, and ensure their entries are clearly labeled with their name and category.
Deadline
The final window for submissions closes on August 31, 2026.
However, the organizers are encouraging early participation, as those who submit their work ahead of time stand a chance to win additional rewards through a Lucky Dip prize draw.
