Vital Voices has officially opened applications for its 2026 VV Engage fellowship, a signature program dedicated to advancing women’s public leadership and global governance.
This initiative aims to bolster the influence of women in policy-making roles to drive progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The program is specifically designed to shift global culture surrounding women’s leadership and foster bipartisan collaboration.

Funding and benefits
Selected fellows will participate in a fully funded 10-month program featuring intensive training in political strategy, governance, and strategic communications.
These educational components are delivered in partnership with professors from the Harvard Kennedy School and the Council of World Women Leaders.
Beyond technical training, participants join a prestigious global network of over 49,000 women leaders and an alumni community of 190 experts.
Fellows also gain rare access to current and former heads of state, facilitating high-level mentorship and peer collaboration.
Application requirements and eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must have at least three years of experience in a leadership or decision-making role within public office, government, or civil society.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old by June 2026 and can include elected officials, political activists, or media professionals.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the Vital Voices Leadership Model, which prioritizes innovation, collaboration, and a clear sense of mission.
Applicants should also show a dedicated interest in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting transparency in governance.
The selection process for this fellowship is highly selective and may include a 30-minute virtual interview for shortlisted candidates.
Prospective fellows must be prepared to commit to full participation in all program activities from June 2026 through March 2027.
