The DLG and “Women in Ag magazine” have officially launched their global search for the industry’s most impactful female leaders through the Women in Ag Award.
This international competition seeks to pay tribute to women who are actively shaping the future of the agricultural sector with innovative ideas and visionary leadership.
Funding and benefits
Winners of this prestigious prize are provided with a global platform to showcase their professional achievements and make their success visible to an international audience.
Beyond the recognition, the award fosters a strong network that supports and connects women from over 80 countries, offering lasting opportunities for professional exchange.
The top three winners in each of the four categories will be honored at an official ceremony held on November 11, 2026, during the EuroTier exhibition in Hanover.
Importantly, participation in the competition is free of charge for all applicants worldwide.
Application requirements and eligibility
The competition is open to women globally who work in the sectors of Farming, Agribusiness, Education, or Technology and Research.
Eligible candidates include primary producers, service providers, researchers, teachers, and even agricultural journalists or influencers.
Applicants must submit their own entries through the official online portal, ensuring they choose only one category that best fits their professional profile.
The organizers emphasize that incomplete applications or those that do not strictly comply with competition rules will not be considered by the jury.
Each submission must include an online form, a portrait photo, and at least two high-resolution images showing the candidate at work.
Furthermore, a two-minute video is required, where the applicant describes her unique contribution to the agricultural sector.
While the application and video must be in English, the video can be filmed in a native language provided that English subtitles are included.
An international jury of agricultural experts will then evaluate the nominees based on their innovative work and positive impact on the farming community.
Deadline
The final closing date for all application submissions is July 10, 2026. This serves as a call for women everywhere to share their inspiring stories and join an ecosystem dedicated to increasing female visibility in agriculture.
