The IFRA-Nigeria Research Grant supports research projects in the humanities and social sciences with a focus on West Africa.
This initiative seeks to promote original research and strengthen academic collaboration across the region.
Funding
Each selected project may receive up to €1,000, depending on its scope and budget.
Successful applicants will receive 50% of the grant upon selection and the remaining 50% after submitting a final report.
This funding structure allows researchers to focus fully on their work while ensuring accountability and completion.

Applicants must be engaged in the humanities or social sciences and focus their research on a country within IFRA-Nigeria’s geographical scope. Eligible countries include Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Liberia, Gambia, Niger, Chad and Burkina Faso
Requirements
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

A motivation letter (maximum one page) outlining the scientific project, detailed work plan, institutional partnerships, expected outcomes, and bibliography

A curriculum vitae (maximum three pages)

A detailed research project description (maximum four pages)

A budget specifying the total project cost and explaining the intended use of funds
All documents should be compiled into a single PDF file.
