The Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour party and others have asked the Independent National Electoral Commission or INEC to discontinue the ongoing collation and announcement of the results of the presidential election.
The parties made the call at the International Conference Center in Abuja, where collation is ongoing.
The parties base their call on the allegations that election results were not uploaded to INEC's review portal, the iREV, giving room for manipulations, over-voting, and other forms of rigging by the ruling All Progressive Congress.
However, INEC chairman, Muhammad Yakubu, over-ruled the parties, insisting that the process must continue and that review would be done after collation and announcement if needed.
