Police present 68 million naira cheque to families of slain officers in Anambra

The Anambra Police Command has presented cheques worth about 68 million naira to the 16  families of deceased Police officers attached to the Command.

Presenting the cheques on behalf of Usman Baba Alkali, the Inspector General of Police,  in Awka, the Anambra State capital, the Anambra State, the State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, said the gesture is aimed at spurring officers to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that their welfare is a priority to the leadership of the Force.

The gesture, an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme is also aimed at giving succor to the family of Police officers who died in active service.

The CP expressed his gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his continuous efforts to ensure that personnel of the Force receive a good welfare package. He advised the beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in profitable ventures that will alleviate the needs of their dependents. This is the second time in the past three months that the Command has received similar cheques from the Inspector-General of Police.

 Echeng assured the Inspector-General of Police that the officers and men of the Command would continue to give their best to ensure peace, security, and safety in Anambra State. 

The families who received the cheques expressed their appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and promised to use the money prudently.
