“Nigerians, mostly students in Sudan, are about to be moved to Cairo, Egypt, as the Federal Government has completed preparations for their evacuation. Adequate information will be provided by the Nigerian Embassy in Khartoum,” Bashir wrote.

Sudan was thrown into conflict about ten days ago when fighting erupted between forces loyal to army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces or RSF led by Mohamed “Hemedti” Hamdan Daglo.

The conflict has so far left more than 500 people dead with many more seeking to leave the country.
