Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation, on Monday, insisted that the country's national carrier, Nigerian Air, will fly before May 29, marking the end of Muhammadu Buhari's administration.
"Yes, we are on course, we're on course, and by the grace of God, before President Buhari leaves office, it will fly. We are on course, we are on course and before May 29, it will fly", said Sirika.
Sirika also said that the federal government had approved N3,197,127,22.72 for the procurement and installation of Waylights, Photometric Patterns, and some other equipment in three airports across the country.
Showing the approval, Sirika said, “Something very significant has happened in the world of civil aviation; part of our road map, the Aviation Leasing Company has been established and approved by the council.
"Therefore, operators in civil aviation will have access to this equipment at an affordable rate and within our country, Nigeria; this is part of the roadmap. So, the roadmap is gradually coming to 100% completion." He added.
Briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President; the minister explained that the equipment would be installed in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja airports.
