As the announcement of the end of petrol subsidy by President Bola Tinubu continues to fuel confusion in Nigeria, Nigeria’s indigenous vehicle manufacturing company,  Innoson Vehicles, has announced the introduction of its Compressed Natural Gas or CNG-powered vehicles.

The company said the innovation will not only reduce the nation's reliance on petroleum products but also contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.

Innosson revealed that one of the advantages of its CNG vehicles is their positive impact on the environment. When compared to traditional fuel-powered vehicles, CNG vehicles emit lower levels of harmful pollutants, including carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (PM), and having more of these vehicles on the road will actively contribute to improving air quality and mitigating climate change in Nigeria.

Like many countries, Nigeria faces the pressing challenge of reducing its carbon footprint. CNG is a cleaner-burning fuel that produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions when combusted.

The company added that their “CNG variant vehicles are available across all models, including sedans, SUVs, and trucks. In addition to our range of CNG vehicles, we also offer the option to convert your existing fuel or diesel-powered vehicles to CNG at our state-of-the-art factory”
