Gombe state has been awarded as the best state for ease of doing business in Nigeria.

The award, an initiative of the Presidential Enabling Business Council or PEBEC, is a result of the council's  2021- 2023 sub-national ease of doing business ranking where Gombe had the highest score on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises or MSMEs

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya while receiving the award said that the recognition attested to the huge economic and industrial revolution taking place in Gombe. He cited some examples like the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park Dadinkowa and other Social amenities, that portray the growth occurring in Gombe.

The governor who was represented by his deputy,  Dr. Manasseh Daniel Jatau expressed satisfaction that the reforms carried out by the administration have been recognized and appreciated, assuring that it will spur him to do more for the people to feel the impact of what his government is doing in terms of providing an enabling environment for investors.

According to the PEBEC report, Gombe scored 7.15 to emerge as the state providing the most friendly environment for business. It is also the second time Gombe is becoming the first position, having emerged as the overall best last year when the 2021 Ease of Doing Business report was released.

The PEBEC report looked at six major indicators that include; a secure and stable environment; transparency and accessibility of Information; Regulatory Environment; Skills and Labour, and Economic Opportunity, and found that it excelled in all the parameters.
