In efforts to improve the trade traffic between the U.S. and Africa, the U.S.-Africa Trade Council has announced the appointment of Olusiji Aina as a member of its advisory board.
The trade council is a not-for-profit business organisation that promotes trade, tourism and investment opportunities between the United States and Africa.
According to a statement issued by the council’s regional director, Mounir El Bouamri, and obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria or NAN, the board advises on programmes and organisational planning and advocacy for public policy to protect the private sector businesses across the U.S and Africa trade axis.
Aina joins the council to enhance economic links between American and African businesses.
“The board that we have is truly exemplary in their individual and combined extensive expertise in business, commerce, academics, government and international relations,” the statement reads.
“Aina is a development economist and impact investing specialist. He is a strategist with professional competency in building high impact market-relevant skills for economic development, creating employment and promoting economic growth in Africa.”
Aina has over 20 years of professional experience in business strategy development and other areas: financial inclusion, renewable energy, project management, agribusiness, enterprise development, and human capital development.
He currently sits on several local and international organisations’ boards, including Impact Amplifier Foundation, Cognity Advisory, African Intellectual Resource Salus Trust.
He is also the co-chairman of Kogi State Economic Council, Board member, Kogi State Investment Promotion Council, and member of Kogi State Youth Development Commission.”
