The United Nations has launched a global search for breakthrough, scalable SDG solutions aimed at addressing critical challenges in low-resource settings.

This initiative, part of the 11th Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI Forum), seeks to find developers who can accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 2026 Call is built around the theme of “Transformative, equitable, and coordinated science, technology, and innovation for the 2030 Agenda and a sustainable future for all.”

Organizers are specifically looking for innovations that advance five key SDGs: Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Industry and Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities, and Partnerships.

Funding and benefits

Selected participants will receive global exposure and recognition from UN member states, researchers, development organizations, and potential funders.

The forum provides vital networking opportunities, allowing innovators to build relationships with investors and policymakers while sharing ideas to drive the final push for SDG implementation.

Application requirement

  • The call is primarily designed for young innovators and early-stage scalable solution developers who can contribute fresh creativity to the global goals.
  • The UN is also prioritizing underrepresented groups, specifically seeking the leadership and perspectives of women and Indigenous innovators to ensure inclusive development.
  • Interested parties must submit their ideas, solutions, or existing funded innovations through the official UN STI Forum application portal.

Deadline

The window for submissions is brief; all applications must be completed and submitted no later than January 18, 2026. Click here to apply. Explore more global calls on our Opportunities page
