The Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs has opened applications for the 2026 World Fellows Programme, a global leadership initiative that brings together mid-career professionals driving positive change in their communities and beyond.

Each year, the programme attracts exceptional individuals from diverse sectors who share a commitment to building a fairer, more sustainable and more inclusive world.

Focus

The fellowship targets accomplished individuals with a strong record of integrity, leadership and achievement. Its goal is to empower participants to expand their professional influence while enriching Yale’s dynamic intellectual community.

Fellows engage in deep reflection, collaboration and exchange, addressing complex global challenges and developing innovative ideas for social impact.

Funding details

Selected fellows receive comprehensive financial and logistical support, including:

  • A taxable stipend to cover living costs in New Haven

  • A furnished apartment

  • Medical insurance

  • Round-trip travel from their home country

Fellows will also gain access to Yale’s world-class academic resources, mentorship opportunities and a global network of more than 400 alumni shaping policy, business and social movements worldwide.

Who can apply

The programme is open to visionary professionals from all regions who have demonstrated significant leadership and a commitment to the public good.

Eligible applicants must:
● Be citizens of countries other than the United States (dual U.S. citizens may apply, but preference is given to those focused outside the U.S.)
● Have 5–25 years of professional experience with proven regional, national, or international impact
● Be fluent in English
● Be available to reside full-time at Yale from mid-August to mid-December 2026

Programme expectations

Fellows are expected to fully participate in the programme’s rigorous and immersive schedule, which includes seminars, mentorship sessions, public talks and collaborative projects.

The experience is designed to enhance leadership capacity while fostering cross-cultural understanding and intellectual growth within Yale’s global community.

Requirements

The application process is entirely online and free of charge. Required materials include:

  • A résumé or CV (maximum three pages)

  • A personal statement (up to 600 words)

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • A short video statement
