Applications are now open for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship, an opportunity for rising climate and clean energy professionals from the Global South.
The fellowship, hosted by Yale’s International Leadership Center, is designed to expand participants’ technical expertise, deepen their global networks, and create opportunities for engagement with leading experts in clean energy and climate change.
Fellows will come from a broad range of professions, including public service, entrepreneurship, energy, finance, journalism, academia, law, and civil society.
Program Overview
This five-month, three-part fellowship begins with an in-person orientation at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, from February 16 to 20, 2026. The programme is developed in partnership with various Yale institutions such as:

Application Requirements
- Applicants should be five to ten years into their professional careers, with demonstrated accomplishments at a regional, national, or international level.
- Open to young leaders from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fellows must commit to attending both in-person weeks: the Yale Orientation week (February 16-20, 2026) and the Paris closing week (June 15-19, 2026).
- Fellows must participate in the five remote learning journeys and complete a group project between March and June 2026.
