The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is accepting submissions for the 2026 World Wildlife Day International Youth Art Contest, inviting young creatives worldwide to champion wildlife conservation through art.
Theme for 2026
This year’s theme, “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods,” focuses on the vital role plants play in sustaining ecosystems, cultural traditions and human well-being.
Participants are encouraged to illustrate how wildlife interacts with plants—particularly how animals depend on medicinal or aromatic species. Only artworks that feature plants will be eligible for final judging.
Benefits
Finalists and winners will be showcased during the official World Wildlife Day celebration on March 3, 2026. Selected works will receive global visibility, offering young artists a platform to promote conservation awareness and celebrate their creative contributions.

The contest is open to young artists aged 4–18 from around the world. It provides a space for children and teenagers to express their understanding of wildlife and plant biodiversity while highlighting the essential role plants play in healthy natural systems and human livelihoods.
