The World Sustainability Award (WSA) is now accepting nominations to recognise outstanding individuals who have made groundbreaking contributions to sustainability research.
The 2026 edition will honour three exceptional researchers, each representing one of the core pillars of sustainability: Biosphere, Society, and Economy. The award celebrates scholarly excellence, innovative thinking and transformative real-world impact across disciplines.

Eligibility Requirements
Nominees must:

Be senior researchers with a strong international track record in sustainability-related research.

Have demonstrated sustained, high-quality contributions—either fundamental or applied—within a relevant disciplinary or interdisciplinary framework.

Be nominated by third parties familiar with their work and its impact (self-nominations will not be accepted).
The selection committee will include at least three members, each representing one of the award’s core categories: Biosphere, Society, and Economy.
