The Society for Psychophysiological Research (SPR) has announced its annual video contest, inviting students and early-career professionals to showcase their ability to communicate science to the public.

The video challenges participants to create short, engaging videos that explain psychophysiological research in a way that is easy for a broad audience to understand. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic research and the general public.

What is the focus of the video contest?

The aim of the video contest  is to encourage emerging researchers to become effective communicators who can share their work with policymakers, practitioners, and the public to promote evidence-based practices.

Participants must create a video under three minutes long that describes the concept of psychosociological research to a normal audience.

What are the benefits of the video context?

The competition offers cash prizes for the top three submissions. The first-place winner will receive $1000. The second-place winner will get $500, and the third-place winner will be awarded $200.

In addition to the financial reward, the winning videos will be featured on the SPR website and social media channels, providing valuable exposure for the creators. Winners will also be announced at the SPR Annual Meeting.

The video contest is open to those who are in the early stages of their academic or professional careers in the psychophysiological field. The specific eligibility criteria are:
