Organisations committed to environmental stewardship and climate action in Kenya now have a significant opportunity to secure funding for their projects. A new call for proposals has been launched under the UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) programme.

The initiative seeks projects that directly contribute to both climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts in Kenya. It also aims to advance Kenya’s climate change goals and green growth objectives by reducing emissions, strengthening resilience and protecting biodiversity.

Funding details

Selected projects can receive up to £500,000 each, enabling the rollout of high-impact initiatives. Projects are expected to deliver meaningful results and demonstrate excellent value for money, ensuring that every pound contributes effectively to climate solutions.

This call is open to a wide array of organisations, including:

  • Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), businesses, academic institutions, and local government bodies.
  • Applicants with a proven track record in delivering Nature-Based Solutions projects in Kenya or in similar regional contexts.
  • Organisations that emphasise community engagement and collaboration with stakeholders.

Project focus

Successful projects may include ecosystem restoration, sustainable land management or urban greening initiatives. Proposals must clearly outline:

  • Detailed project plan with objectives and outcomes,
  • A clear budget
  • The expertise of the project team.
  • A clear alignment with Kenya’s climate priorities and Nature-Based Solutions principles.

All submissions must be made on the official website by September 29, at 23:59 GMT.
