The Peace & Recovery Initiative supports research and interventions that address the challenges of violence, conflict and crisis recovery.
The initiative prioritises studies that develop, test or illustrate fundamental theories of peace, violence and recovery
Aim of the Initiative
The initiative aims to foster rigorous, evidence-based research and interventions that advance understanding of peacebuilding and recovery processes. It seeks projects that:
-
Drive innovation and generate generalisable learning on programme effectiveness.
-
Identify mechanisms that underpin successful interventions.
-
Explore barriers to achieving meaningful and lasting impact.
Benefits
The Peace & Recovery Initiative provides funding for:
-
Impact evaluations, pilots, and exploratory studies
-
Evidence use and policy outreach support
-
Infrastructure and public goods projects
Full studies can receive up to $500,000 to rigorously evaluate interventions’ causal effects through randomised or quasi-experimental methods.
Infrastructure and public goods creation grants of up to $250,000 will support the development of datasets, tools, or research frameworks that enable future evaluations.
In addition to funding, the initiative offers opportunities for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among researchers, policymakers and practitioners.
