Up to $250,000 available: Amref calls for partners on climate-health initiative

Amref Health Africa is seeking a partner to host a new regional hub focused on the intersection of climate change and health. This four-year initiative aims to directly influence public health in East and Southern Africa, ensuring that the solutions developed are both locally relevant and sustainable.

Benefits

Funding support ranges from USD 50,000 for pilot studies to USD 250,000 for comprehensive projects, with durations spanning from 12 to 24 months. Eligible costs include professional fees, fieldwork, workshops, travel, equipment, specialised services, and up to 13% overhead costs.

Partners will also gain unmatched visibility in the climate and health field, helping to shape regional policy, drive the public health agenda, and build a legacy of health and resilience.

Eligibility

Amref is looking for a legally registered academic or research institution based in East or Southern Africa that demonstrates:

  • A strong track record in research, policy engagement, and capacity building in public health or a related field.
  • Sound financial management systems.
  • Established relationships with key regional stakeholders.

Application details

Interested applicants should submit a compelling expression of interest that portrays the story of their vision and capabilities, including their unique approach to addressing the challenges of climate and health.

Proposals should not exceed ten pages.

Required documents

Alongside proposals, applicants must provide a copy of their institution’s legal registration certificate as well as their latest audited financial statements to demonstrate operational and financial stability.
