The Astellas–Pfizer Alliance has launched a new educational grant to support independent medical education initiatives focused on improving care for patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer (la/mUC) and muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).

The programme is designed to help healthcare professionals stay up to date with rapidly evolving treatment approaches and translate evidence-based knowledge into improved patient outcomes.

Aim

This funding opportunity supports education programmes that address current knowledge gaps in urothelial cancer care.

Priority will be given to initiatives that help clinicians interpret emerging clinical data, including the use of novel therapies such as Enfortumab Vedotin–based combinations, and apply this knowledge effectively in real-world clinical practice.

Funding details

Individual grants range from $10,000 to $200,000 USD, with a total programme budget of approximately $750,000 USD.

Grant funding may be used to cover direct project costs, indirect expenses, and institutional overheads (up to 22%), enabling organisations to design and deliver high-quality, impactful educational activities.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants include:

  • Medical, nursing and allied health professional schools

  • Healthcare institutions and hospitals

  • Professional and medical societies

  • Accredited medical education companies

Only organisations, not individuals, are eligible to apply.

For collaborative proposals, one organisation must serve as the lead applicant, with all partners clearly defined and accountable.

Application requirements

Applicants must be authorised representatives of their organisations and able to receive funding directly from Astellas Pharma Global Development.

Projects that offer continuing education credits must be submitted by appropriately accredited bodies.

This grant supports education-focused initiatives only and does not fund research studies. Its aim is to strengthen clinical practice through high-quality, independent medical education.

Deadline

Applications are due on January 31, 2026. Interested organisations should read this PDF document for guidelines on how to apply.
