The Holohil Grant Programme supports practical, field-based initiatives that strengthen how wildlife is studied, protected and managed.

Designed for researchers and conservation practitioners, the programme prioritises projects that generate reliable data and translate directly into real-world conservation and wildlife-management outcomes.

Focus

The programme focuses on advancing animal tracking, welfare, and conservation through projects that apply scientific tools to pressing biodiversity challenges.

It supports research and conservation efforts that use tracking and monitoring technologies to better understand animal movement, behaviour and ecology, with an emphasis on practical, field-ready solutions that inform management decisions.

Funding details

Successful applicants may receive grants of up to USD 1,800.

Funding can be used to cover essential project costs such as fieldwork expenses, equipment use, data collection, or pilot testing of tracking solutions. While modest in size, the grant is intended to catalyse impactful, hands-on research.

In addition to financial support, selected grantees benefit from increased visibility within the global wildlife research and conservation community.

Who can apply

The programme is open to researchers, conservation practitioners, and organisations worldwide, including early-career scientists and community- or field-based practitioners.

Applicants may come from academic, non-profit, or independent research backgrounds.

Eligibility criteria

Strong proposals should clearly demonstrate how the project will improve understanding of wildlife behaviour or contribute to conservation outcomes.

Applications are assessed based on feasibility, scientific merit, practical relevance and potential impact on wildlife conservation or management decisions.

How to apply

Interested applicants should submit a concise proposal outlining their project objectives, methodology, and expected impact.

Applications are reviewed according to Holohil’s stated schedule. Full application guidelines and submission details are available on the Holohil website.

Deadline

Applications are due on January 15, 2026.
