Are you a woman with a strong track record in the fields of culture, creativity, or heritage in West Africa? UNESCO invites you to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to be featured among inspiring women shaping the region’s cultural landscape.
This call is part of UNESCO’s “Culture for Girls” regional programme, which aims to promote gender equality in West Africa’s cultural sectors by fostering an environment that supports the rights, training, employment, and professional growth of girls and women.
Objectives

Identify and promote women engaged in cultural and creative industries, as well as in heritage preservation and transmission.

Expand UNESCO’s regional network of women cultural professionals.
Focus Areas

Strengthen recognition of women’s rights as established professionals in culture-related fields.

Develop advocacy strategies to increase the visibility of women creators, their work, and their contributions to society.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Identify as women (of any age group).

Be citizens of and currently residing in one of the following West African countries:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, or Togo. -
Have a minimum of five years’ experience in cultural, creative, or heritage-related professions.

Be actively involved in artistic, educational, heritage, or community-based cultural projects.
