The organisers encourage nominators to consider the full breadth of the scientific enterprise—including gender, race, ethnicity, geographic region, and institutional diversity—when submitting nominations.

Each prize includes a $1 million award, presented directly to the laureates.
Eligibility

Anyone may submit a nomination, except self-nominations.

Multiple nominations for different breakthroughs are welcome.

Up to three individuals can be jointly nominated for related contributions.

Nominations remain active for two additional prize cycles (four years), with the option for nominators to update and resubmit during future calls.
