The Royal Society is inviting applications for its Faraday Discovery Fellowship, which is designed to support outstanding theoretical physics researchers at the early- to mid-career stage.
The fellowship helps scientists establish their own research groups and pursue innovative projects at host institutions in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.
Fellowship benefits
The five-year award provides substantial support, including:

Up to £50,000 for salary in the first year.

An additional £15,000 annually for research expenses.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

Hold a PhD and have 3–8 years of postdoctoral research experience.

Not hold a permanent academic position.

Have secured a host institution in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.

Be of any nationality, but must have the right to work in the UK or the Republic of Ireland for the full duration of the fellowship.

Applications must be submitted via the Royal Society’s Flexi-Grant® online system.
