Areas of focus

- Environmental Protection (projects that work to alleviate environmental degradation, restore/protect natural resources, or address solutions for climate change).
- Community Activation (projects creating a positive and thriving community network while engaging in transformative change for the good of the whole) .
- Cultural Collaboration (empowering creative expression and connection while strengthening the values of compassion and collaboration across communities and sectors).
Funding and qualification
Winning projects will receive USD 10,000 each. Note that applications requesting funding above this limit will not be considered. Ideal projects should fulfil the following categories.
- Sustainability of the project and ability to operate after the initial grant funds are used
- Ability to address solutions within the areas of cultural collaboration
- Individual or team experience and expertise
- Outline of the design, development, and implementation process
- Clear timeline for completion and/or initiation
- Alignment with Purpose Earth’s mission to create a world that works for everyone
The grant funding can be used for the project development but not for operational activities like salaries, wages, or compensation to consultants, contractors, or advisors; travel; capital campaigns; sponsorships; conferences; or prizes.
Ineligible countries
Due to legal restrictions and international sanctions, people and organizations from the Balkans, Burma, Iraq, Iran, Russia, Yemen, South Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, the West Bank, Ethiopia, Sudan, DR Congo (Republic of Congo is acceptable), Libya, Mali, and Venezuela cannot apply
Submissions and applications that are not fully completed to full application standards will not be reviewed or considered.
Application requirements
- All applicants are required to provide at least one reference letter from an individual you’ve had a professional connection with, related to your qualifications in leading the project and endorsing the project mission. It must be written and dated within this past year.
- All applicants are required to upload a video using the Youtube platform. Please have the link to your video submission ready to meet the application guidelines. Applicants are asked to include a 1-minute video submission to creatively explain the vision and impact of how a Purpose Earth grant would support project efforts.
- Be certain when you upload your video that the setting is NOT set for private viewing only requiring permission to view. This will be considered an incomplete application.
