The African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) is now inviting applications for the 2025 Pauline Bakibinga Memorial Scholarship, established in honour of the late APHRC researcher. The award seeks to support a young African woman pursuing a Master of Public Health degree and aspiring to build a career in health research.

Scholarship benefits
The award provides full funding for a one-year Master’s programme at a recognised public university in sub-Saharan Africa. Coverage includes:

  • Tuition fees.

  • Research-related expenses.

  • A living stipend to support the student during the programme.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:

  • Be a female citizen of a sub-Saharan African country.

  • Be under the age of 35.

  • Hold an undergraduate degree from a recognised university.

  • Have a valid admission letter for a Master of Public Health programme for the 2024/2025 academic year.

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in health research.
