One Story is now accepting applications for its 2025 Fellowship Programme, a remote, intensive opportunity designed to support an emerging fiction writer. The fellowship, running from September 2025, is open to writers who have not yet published a book and are looking to deepen their craft and understanding of fiction writing.
The selected fellow will receive:

A $2,000 stipend

Free tuition for all One Story online classes for one year

A full manuscript consultation with an editor
Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be 21 years or older.

Have not published a book of fiction.

Not be enrolled in a degree-granting programme during the fellowship period.

Be legally able to receive a stipend from a U.S. company.
How to Apply
Applications must include a cover letter, a writing sample, and a $25 application fee (waivers are available for financial hardship).
